The purpose of the Millennium Cohort Family Study is to gain a more complete understanding of the military experience and its impact on the health and well-being of Service members and their families. The Family Study also provides a unique opportunity to explore the impact of relationship quality on the physical and psychological health of Service members, their spouses and children. A comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by military families provides a vehicle to create truly effective interventions and support programs.
Individuals included in the Family Study are the spouses of participants in the Millennium Cohort Study. Participation in the Family Study is completely voluntary. However, every completed survey helps inform multiple levels and types of support needed by Service members and their families. We encourage participation even if a sponsor is: (1) no longer in the service or (2) separated or no longer co-residing with spouse.
